Privacy mode: the AI runs on your PC

LexiMeld can work in two ways: in the cloud, or in Privacy mode, with an AI running on your own PC. In Privacy mode your voice and text never go online — Hungarian dictation, styles and Hungarian–English translation can all run this way if your PC can handle it.

Who it is for
Anyone who dictates confidential things: client matters, contracts, internal emails, notes. In Privacy mode the recording never leaves the PC, so its content does not reach any third party either.
How it works on your PC
- Speech recognition on your PC: the Whisper model (large-v3-turbo) runs on your graphics card and turns speech into text.
- Style and translation on your PC: an open AI model (Google Gemma 3 12B) tidies the text into a friendly or business style, or translates it into English.
- The models are downloaded only if you ask for them (during setup or later in Settings).
- After you turn it on, LexiMeld measures whether your PC is fast enough. On a medium PC only the raw transcript is available in Privacy mode; styles and translation work in the cloud there, with Privacy mode off.
Turning it on
- If you did not ask for it during setup, download the on-PC AI: Settings → Download local AI model (~8 GB).
- Turn on Privacy mode with the lock icon on the left side of the control panel, or with the Privacy profile in the tray.
- With it off, LexiMeld uses the cloud again; you switch between the two with one click.
Good to know
- The highest-quality text is usually made in the cloud; in Privacy mode data protection comes first.
- The subscription check needs internet from time to time (without internet the app works for up to 3 days). This check does not send voice or text.
